The Bridestowe Ram Roast Saturday 12th August
1-5pm and 5.30pm until later on the Sporting Green.
The Ram Roast is a Bridestowe tradition, which we are very much looking forward to bringing back to the village. We haven’t held one for a few years so please be patient if there are any hiccups on the day! The aim is to bring the community together for an afternoon, and evening, of fun and laughter. Our ‘ram roaster’ will be up early( 4am) to get the spit turning and all should be ready for the 1pm kick off. There will be ten varied stalls to peruse and activities to amuse the children – races, tattooing, and a lucky dip. All ages are urged to take part in the egg throwing of course.
There’ll be plenty to eat too with ram baps and other barbecue fare plus sweets and ice cream. The White Hart is providing a bar, and the tea tent will be full of cakes and savouries to be enjoyed with tea and coffee, all for a £1.
Our wonderful MC, Graham Crocker, will keep us entertained, with some live music acts joining him throughout the afternoon. and Paul Henderson providing other music in between. We may even see the return of ‘Bridestowe’s Got Talent’ so if you feel you’ve got a talent then sign up before 2pm on the day and have your moment in the spotlight. We are very grateful to Airband who will be sponsoring the barbecue.
How can you help? You could donate a raffle prize. We have a £50 cash prize as a starter but other prizes would be appreciated. Help to get the green ready on Friday evening from 5pm onwards and Saturday morning would be very welcome. If everyone pitches
in to clear away at the end of the day no one will be over-worked, well, maybe the ram roaster.

The hope is that enough money will be raised to cover costs and any extra will be retained to help fund next year’s event. Please remember, it’s free entry on the day. One vital piece of information – the Portaloo is just within the church grounds.
